Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The installer puts FloorCast3D in your own user folder, so it needs no administrator rights and no help from IT.

Your browser or antivirus may block the download

Both can, and they are separate things that happen to look alike. It is worth knowing which one you hit, because what gets you past them is different.

“Not commonly downloaded” is the browser’s own judgement, and it is a statement about popularity rather than content. Every release we publish is a file the world has never seen before, and a file nobody has downloaded yet is unusual by definition. Choose Keep — on the download itself, or from chrome://downloads — and it proceeds.

“Virus detected” is your antivirus, not the browser — the browser is repeating what it was told. That one takes the file rather than asking, so the download cannot be resumed and the fix is to restore it from your antivirus’s quarantine: that one file, not a blanket exception, and without turning protection off. These verdicts are keyed to this exact build, which is why the next release starts over from nothing.

In either case, verify the file before you run it. It is signed by RD Apex Software LLC, the signature is timestamped and intact, and the two commands below settle in a few seconds what a reputation score is only guessing at. We would rather hand you that than ask you to take our word for it.

Please tell us which product blocked it — support@floorcast3d.com. We file false-positive reports with the vendors, and knowing which one you hit is what makes a report actionable.

Windows will warn you the first time

SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC” for any installer it has not yet seen enough copies of, and a certificate issued this month has no history to go on. Choose More info, check that the publisher line reads RD Apex Software LLC, then Run anyway. The prompt fades as more people install: it measures how new we are, not what is in the file.

Check what you downloaded

Windows will name RD Apex Software LLC as the verified publisher. That is the legal entity behind FloorCast3D, so the brand and the publisher name deliberately differ. If your machine names anyone else, the file did not come from us: stop and email us before running it.

Both commands below are built into Windows — nothing to install. Run either in PowerShell against the file you downloaded:

The hash must equal this, and the signature status must read Valid:

If the hash matches and the signature is Valid, you have exactly the file we built and signed, whatever a scanner said about it. If either disagrees, do not run it — tell us instead.

What the installer does

It installs to your local app-data folder under your own account. Nothing goes into Program Files, no service is registered, nothing runs at startup, and the app opens no network port — as of 2.0 it is a normal desktop window, not a page in your browser. FloorCast3D keeps its licence, your rates, your branding and your uploads in your own app-data folder, somewhere you can actually write to.

Installing a newer version over an older one keeps all of it — upgrading from a 1.x version, 2.0 copies your licence and settings across on first launch and leaves the originals in place. The uninstaller removes only the files it installed, so your licence key and settings survive an upgrade or a reinstall — deleting them stays your decision, made by deleting the folder. One exception worth knowing on the 1.x jump: side-by-side Compare variants kept in the old browser tab do not carry over on their own — save each as a project file before upgrading, then bring them back with File → Import project files as Compare variants.

You will need a key

The download is free and open to anyone; the software asks for a licence key on first run. A 14-day trial key arrives by email within a minute of asking, and a subscription key arrives the same way. Get a trial key or see pricing.

To activate: open FloorCast3D, go to Settings, paste the key into the Licence key field and press Activate.

If something goes wrong

Email support@floorcast3d.com and tell us what Windows said. If an antivirus product blocked the download, name it if you can — that is what turns a complaint into a false-positive report a vendor will act on.
